- GREGORY PETER PANOS has been active in the field of Virtual
- Reality for almost 10 years. Currently a writer, entrepreneur
- and inventor designing and developing state-of-the-art tech-
- nology, Greg is active in the promotion of VR and real-world
- VR applications. Areas of specialization include: "On-Body
- Systems" for personal information \ communications, Videophone
- system development and human personality archiving for virtual
- reality related adventures and special event venues.
-
- Having been active in the explosive growth of the computer
- graphics field for over 10 years and after holding the post of
- SIGGRAPH-L.A. Chairman for the 2 years, Greg has established a
- name in many high technology circles. Working in human factors
- simulation for the NASA Space Station Project at Rockwell
- Intn'l's Space Division and having been invited to speak at
- NASA Centers and major aerospace industry conferences, he has
- been identified as a pioneer and futurist in the exciting area
- of computer-human interfacing.
-
- Recent inventions include the "Belt-Based-Computer", a concept
- design believed to be the next phase of human-computer evolution
- where each of use will be wearing our technological tools such
- as information systems and communications channels "On-Body".
- It will be these personal tools that will act on our behalf
- to interface with an increasingly more complex technical and
- machine inhabited world. Work in human interface design and
- in real-time graphics feedback has placed Greg in key advisory
- roles as a consultant in advanced strategic planning for major
- corporations, entertainment conglomerates, leading-edge consumer
- product development teams and multimedia organizations.
-
- Last, but most significant, Greg is starting a company in
- Beverly Hills, California called "PersonaForm". PFI will service
- the anticipated need for real people (initially show biz person-
- alities) to create virtual versions of themselves for storage
- and later use in features, theme venues and VR based future
- entertainment concepts. A "PersonaForm", as they are called,
- will be the most sacred of personal databases that one will
- update and fine-tune throughout their lifetime. It is believed
- that one's PersonaForm will be the most precious gift one will
- leave behind them after they have passed on into the next world.
-
- As a writer for Computer Graphics World, Computer Pictures
- Magazine and author of the "Virtual Reality Sourcebook",
- "Who's who in Virtual Reality", and associate editor of "Virtual
- Reality Systems" the world's first full color quarterly magazine
